The Auchi traditional ruler, Otaru of Auchi, Alhaji Aliru Momoh, Ikelebe III, has announced a donation of 50,000 hectares of arable farmland to the Federal Government for agricultural purposes.
Speaking during a meeting with village heads and palace chiefs, the Otaru said the 50,000 hectares was part of the community’s effort to support the Federal Government’s agricultural revolution.
The monarch said they were awaiting the government’s delegation for the inspection of the farmland.
He said the land was meant for the production of crops like groundnut, maize and cassava.
The traditional ruler urged those he described as mischief makers to desist from playing politics with every issue in the country.
He called on the 25 village heads in the kingdom to encourage their wards towards going back to agriculture and boosting food security.
